About Marjorie Kargbo

Marjorie Kargbo is a London based, innovative and captivating Print Designer in textiles and Surface Pattern design. She was born in Freetown- Sierra Leone and came to England in year 2000, and developed a great passion for Art and Design from a young age. In 2009 and after finishing three arts related A-levels,  Marjorie Kargbo attended the University of the Arts London, Camberwell, where her abilities in print designs were established in her Art and Design Foundation Diploma year.

She then continued higher education at London College of Communication (UAL) where she completed a Foundation Hons Degree in Surface Design. From there, she learnt the technicalities of prints for both Textiles and Surface Design and created prints for different surfaces and lengths for wallpapers and textiles. 

Marjorie Kargbo graduated from London College of Communication in 2012 as a Surface Designer and then attended Buckinghamshire New University to achieve a BA Hons in Textiles and Surface Design.  It was in Bucks she discovered how much she also loved printed textiles and fell in love with the Fashion aspect of it. Now a graduate again as a Textiles Designer she mentions in the quote below. 

 

 

‘The passion to invent something uniquely different is what I love to do with prints. I have developed solid creative processes which forces me to view the world as not just as a surface designer but also a printed textile for fashion designer.  I love innovation and will always pursue that in my print designs.’
